Security Training in Liverpool, Wirral & Warrington

The role of the SIA is to manage the compulsory licensing of the private security industry as set out in the Private Security Industry Act 2001. They also aim to raise standards of professionalism and skills within the private security industry and to promote and spread best practice.

All LSS security staff must undertake an extensive and structured programme of training and education with the SIA, resulting in recognised qualifications and ensuring all personnel are effective and professional in their roles. The SIA provide a range of training programmes to provide security staff with a broad range of skills and a clear understanding of their position and the industry they work in. LSS recognises that as the importance and diversity of the security industry increases, it is essential that their staff offer the highest level of skill, professionalism and knowledge. Therefore LSS ensure that all of their employees have relevant qualifications and skill base to prove that their work is up to the SIA’s high standards.

The process involved in gaining an SIA licence includes undertaking between 25 and 150 hours relevant training and assessment, and passing at least one exam for each service. Each training programme includes compulsory areas that must be covered and understood, including codes of practice, dealing with incidents and various security techniques. Some licences also require further qualifications such as First Aid that are normally completed before SIA training can begin.
